Job Title: Class 4 Driver
Location: Whangarei Depot (Servicing clients from Maungaturoto to Houhora)
Contract: Temporary (ASAP - Mid-February)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM start; 6 to 10-hour shifts depending on load and location
Additional Hours: Required to work on Statutory Holidays
Equipment: Must have own Safety Boots and High-Visibility Clothing
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Class 4 Driver to join our team for a temporary contract, covering the peak period from now until mid-February. The role will be based out of the Whangarei Depot and involves servicing clients across a broad geographic area, from the bottom of the Brynderwyns (Maungaturoto) up to Houhora.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive a Class 4 vehicle to transport goods to designated client locations
Adhere to assigned delivery schedules and routes, ensuring timely and efficient service
Perform vehicle checks and ensure compliance with all safety standards
Load and unload cargo, maintaining accurate records of deliveries
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries
Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements:
Valid and clean Class 4 driver's license
Proven experience in driving Class 4 vehicles
Ability to work early starts (5:00 AM) and manage flexible shifts (6-10 hours)
Comfortable with long-distance driving and servicing a wide area
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance
Must have own safety boots and high-visibility clothing
Reliable, punctual, and able to work on statutory holidays when required
