The role will include servicing and participating in planned maintenance programmes for the Napier Port Harbour Tugs as well as contributing to the wider floating plant team. In addition to maintaining our Harbour Tugs, the Tug Engineer is also responsible for providing deck duties during towing operations.Key requirements for this role include:Understanding of Maritime compliance requirementsSupport and contribution to a continuous improvementProactive safety attitude and contribution to Just CultureClear communication and professionalismThe Tug Engineers operate as a rostered team and handle shipping on a 24-hour, 365-day basis. The successful candidate will have a Marine Engineers Qualification – minimum of a MEC 4 and relevant marine engineering experience including certification, knowledge and compliance within MOSS. Prior knowledge or training with Wärtsilä/Caterpillar engines and/or Voith/Rolls Royce ATD propulsion would be advantageous but is not a requirement.The successful candidate will be a great team player with a flexible can-do attitude and strong work ethic.If you think this sounds like you, complete an online application today.
