Carpentry Tutor

Construction Tutor / Facilitator.
Ideally Manawatu Based.
This position supports the "Build a house" opportunity. 
This is a Full-Time Role.
Do you have the skills or knowledge, and could you build a 2- or 3-bedroom transportable house and teach students to build?
Are you a passionate Carpenter who has residential Building Skills and can relate to young people about the building industry and what it has done for you both professionally and personally?
The successful candidate will teach, lead, and support AGC's construction students in gaining knowledge and skills through authentic learning and applying them in real-world work experiences. The perfect candidate would be able to demonstrate their success in teaching and mentoring young adult learners.
To meet the requirements of this role and align with the AGC team, the successful candidate ideally will:
have a current LBP licensehold a relevant qualification in residential constructionhave experience with modern residential construction practices and job site managementshow the last five years of experience working in the construction industrydemonstrate your experience in adult education (preferably face-to-face delivery)be able to assist with designing learning activities and assessment materialunderstand the tertiary education sectorrespect students' individuality to ensure learning experiences meet varying needsinspire students with their own passion for learning and self-improvementenjoy working with people from diverse backgroundsapply a solutions-focused approach to problem-solvinghave sound computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office suitesbe reliable, self-managing, adaptable to change and a positive team member.This position would suit a person who is passionate, enthusiastic, and driven and wants to give back to an industry that has helped them become the tradesperson they are today.
You may have a natural inclination toward mentoring young people or beginners where you are now, well we can help you become the tutor, coach, mentor you want to be.
