Chef - Joes Garage Berryfields

Who are we? Joe's Garage is a bustling Richmond based restaurant, priding itself on simple, fast and reliable offerings that have made us famous all over NZ.
We are looking for a fill a permanent, full-time position or an experienced Chef. The role is working rostered hours during days, evenings and weekends. Joe's operates 7 days and 7 nights. Work on public holidays may be required at times.
Who are we looking for? An experienced Chef who loves working in a fast-paced restaurant with a great team.  Must have a great attitude, be hardworking and reliable, be a team player and turn up ready for work every shift.
Minimum requirements for the role
Suitable candidates will;
·        Have at least 3 years' experience in food preparation, cooking, plating and following food safety requirements and guidelines.
·        Have a strong knowledge of kitchen maintenance, cleaning and hygiene practices and keep to them.
·        Be a qualified chef (New Zealand qualifications or international qualifications are fine) or have on-the-job work experience equivalent to formal qualifications
Ideal Candidates will; Preferred candidates will have at least 5 years' experience as a Chef, ideally at Sous Chef or Head Chef level.
Hold recognised professional cookery qualifications. This is preferred, but not required.
Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Applicants should   for these positions must be New Zealand citizens, or have residence status or a valid open work visa to take up the role.

Other requirements We require suitable candidates to be of good character and drug free. Pre-employment drug testing may be required, as well as on-going on site drug testing. Applicants should have a clean criminal record (especially no dishonesty charges) and be able to provide police vetting.
