Seeking a Pupil Support Assistant in ChristchurchJob Title: Pupil Support AssistantLocation: ChristchurchSalary: £12.82 per hourContract Type: Full-time (Part-time option available)Start Date: January 2025Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD)?We have an exciting opportunity for a Pupil Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming school in ChristchurchAbout the Role:As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEND, SEMH, and ASD, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create and implement individualised support plans tailored to each student's needs.Key Responsibilities of Pupil Support Assistant:Assist in the development and implementation of individualised support plans for students with SEND, SEMH, and ASD, assessing each student's unique needs and abilities, and setting specific goals.Provide one-on-one and small group support tailored to students' needs, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance they need to succeed.Monitor and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education and well-being.Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.Use a variety of support methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.Keep detailed records of each student's progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback.Requirements of Pupil Support Assistant:Prior experience in supporting students with special educational needs is essential.Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.Show a deep commitment to helping students with SEND, SEMH, and ASD.Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).If you are an enthusiastic and compassionate 'Pupil Support Assistant' ready to inspire and support students in their learning journey, we encourage you to apply and join our client school in ChristchurchPlease be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
