Are you an experienced Financial Controller keen to make an impact in a fixed-term position? Join Tabula, a leading player in precision agriculture, and be part of our dynamic team in Mosgiel, providing maternity leave cover through to at least August 2025 (start and end date flexible to suit your preference).

The purpose of this role is to oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance team and ensure that Tabula's finance function is organised and efficient, producing accurate financial and management accounts for TracMap Holdings and all of its subsidiaries.

This opportunity is fixed-term maternity leave cover, based at our Head Office in Mosgiel, and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

What You’ll Do:
  • Management of the finance function and overseeing the finance team.
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows.
  • Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes.
  • Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports.
  • Financial modelling and analysis.
  • Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Board and shareholders reporting.
  • Banking relationships.
  • Managing the year-end financial statements and audit process.
  • Identification and execution of financial opportunities including cost reduction, operational improvements across the business, and changes to support progress toward strategic financial objectives.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5+ years in Financial or Management Accounting, and experience working at a Financial Controller level in a small or medium sized business.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of managing a small accounting team.
  • The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment. You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach.
  • Computer literate with good excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles.
  • Effective and accurate integration of business stock management practices with finance systems. NZ taxation processes including GST and PAYE.
  • IFRS reporting.
  • Engaging with an external auditor.
  • Experienced with budgeting and forecasting featuring integrated income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience with Xero.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities.
