About the Role

We are looking for someone who has had great training and experiences and has then taken it up a level We want someone who is an outstanding communicator, doesn't settle for 'job done' but aims for 'Awesome Job'. Someone who can 'join in' with amazing colleagues and see the true value of working within a multi-disciplinary team. We need someone who meets with a family and young person and draws on their strengths and not just their 'illness', who works alongside them to achieve mutual goals, is able to be compassionate when things don't go to plan and able to help a family reset It's imperative that you have a good sense of humour and are able to enjoy the team.

We provide comprehensive out-patient based services with ever growing outreach into the community. Our services include:

  • Duty/crisis intervention service within a dedicated Intake team
  • Community liaison
  • Outreach clinics (in Tararua)
  • Small service in Horowhenua
  • Growing group program (DBT, ALERT, Yoga & boxing, Emotional regulation skills group for parents)
  • Various therapies (DBT, CBT, ACT, child Psychotherapy, Family therapy)

We have a really well functioning and supportive team here in the CAFMHS service for MidCentral and we want someone who will add to that culture. We have a commitment to continuing medical education and professional development, and our peer review group is enrolled with the maintenance of professional standards programme of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. We are recognised by the College for registrar training.
