Kaiawhina Hauora (Primary Care Assistant) The Kaiawhina Hauora (Primary Care Assistant) is part of the primary care team and supports the delivery of quality healthcare to whanau.
The role involves hands-on clinical support during consultations and procedures with whanau, as well as sterilising equipment, cleaning, maintaining stock and supply levels, recalling whanau for medical procedures, and a variety of other clinical duties.
The role also includes administrative duties such as updating clinical records, claiming, compliance activities, responding to information requests and queries, and reception/phone cover as required.
Being organised and able to manage competing demands is essential.
Based at our Thames Whanau Health Centre (Mary St, Thames), this full-time fixed term role (6 months) is a great opportunity for someone thinking about a career as a health professional.
Previous experience in a clinical environment is an advantage, as is a great attitude and willingness to learn.
Computer literacy and being able to use Microsoft Office software is a prerequisite.
You may also be required to provide cover at our Paeroa Whanau Health Centre from time to time, so flexibility in this respect is also required.
