We are looking for Production Chefs to be part of our team at Weir House in Victoria University of Wellington. This is a permanent full-time role with 30 hours per week and the successful candidate must be able to work during weekends.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Manager with the daily operation of the Kitchen.
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting food ensuring the quality of lunches we serve are of top quality
- Health and Safety is our number 1 rule; you will be an advocate and role model for safety in the workplace.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.
- Being reliable, flexible, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Having a minimum of 2 years' experience in a production kitchen environment.
- Holding food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 & 168) and Level 5 Cookery qualifications.
- Forming great rapport with suppliers, delivery personnel, and kitchen staff.
- Being great with numbers.
- Being confident with Microsoft applications and computer use.
- Having a flexible approach and the ability to keep calm under pressure while demonstrating a passion for customer service and quality.
