Gisborne, New Zealand Hauora Tairawhiti Full time

Vacancy No:HAU02029Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThe remuneration range for this role is $74842 and is covered by Public Health, Scientific & Technical Collective AgreementPosition Description | Intern PharmacistWe are seeking a self-motivated, cheerful and enthusiastic Pharmacy Intern to commence in January 2025 in sunny Gisborne. Gisborne Hospital is the base hospital for the wide geographical area, Tairawhiti, extending up the East Cape of New Zealand. The region has a population of approximately 48,000 and is well known for its beautiful rural and beach environments. Gisborne is a relaxed city offering access to outstanding leisure pursuits and a caring, safe community. The city has superb outdoor facilities, golden beaches, a warm climate and a vibrant local economy based on wineries, agriculture and tourism. We work with one of New Zealand's most culturally diverse populations – a strong cultural emphasis underpins all we do. You will be responsible for providing a high quality pharmacy service to our customers. Being part of a smaller hospital offers great exposure to all parts of the hospital. During your intern year, you will enjoy rotations in the dispensary, surgical ward, medical ward, combination/rehab ward and spend some time in ICU/CCU and paediatrics. You will also get to spend a short time in our dialysis unit and also do a chemotherapy and haematology rotation. It is essential that candidates have a relevant qualification (BPharm or equivalent). Ensure you also complete your Te Whatu Ora Hospital Pharmacy Internship preferencing as part of the application process – this will be distributed to your university email addresses in early April.
