ABOUT THE ROLEThe primary purpose of the role of Te Pou Pataka Kai / Social Supermarket Manager is to lead and oversee all aspects of the supermarket's operations with a strong commitment to addressing food insecurity and fostering community well-being. Responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and effective management of the supermarket, which serves as a vital resource for whanau in need. The role involves leadership, operational management, community engagement, and team development to achieve the supermarket's mission of providing accessible and nutritious food to those facing economic challenges.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORQualification experience in Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field is preferred but not essential.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.A commitment to food security, and community development.Professional approach which demonstrates humility and integrity, inspires trust and resolves conflict.Financial management skills.Ability to work with whanau, hapu and Iwi activities and communicationsUnderstanding of Te Reo and Tikanga as it relates to Ngapuhi.Experience in retail management, supermarket or grocery store setting is advantageous Ngapuhi Iwi Social Services (NISS) was originally established in 1986 to provide Maatua Whangai services and became a section 396 provider in 1996. In 2006, NISS became a subsidiary of Te Runanga-A-Iwi-O-Ngapuhi.
