An exciting opportunity awaits a full-time Chef De Partie to join our busy kitchen in the Food Exchange restaurant on the top floor of Novotel Christchurch Airport, overlooking the airport runway and the alps
The available roles are Full-time and Part-time based at Novotel Christchurch Airport Hotel.
Responsibilities | Nga haepapa
Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing, and room service.
Organising the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift.
Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members.
Offer flexibility with dietary needs and ensure excellent food hygiene and safety standards are adhered to.
Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
About you | Ko koe tenei
The successful candidate must have a certificate at NZQF level 4 or higher, which includes the credit and knowledge requirements of a New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4).
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
1 year proven experience as Chef in a medium to large restaurant.
Engaging personality and a great team player.
Expert in product quality and presentation skills.
Knowledge of cooking trends and best practices.
Capable of planning and delegating multiple tasks.
Willing to learn and grow, some knowledge of Health and Safety (training provided).
Willing to work on a rotating roster.
Candidates must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for the role.
