The appointing salary for this role will be between $100,000 and $120,000, dependent on skills and experience.The Assistant Head of School, Nursing, is based in our Faculty of Education, Humanities and Health Science | Te Pukenga reporting to the Head of School, Nursing and will be responsible for: Annual Plan Development: Co-lead the creation and implementation of the School of Nursing Annual Plan, ensuring performance targets and objectives are met.
Resource Management: Negotiate with the Executive Dean for necessary resources and manage income, operational, and staffing expenses.
Programme Delivery: Develop and oversee programme delivery plans, ensuring alignment with aims, philosophy, and policies, and manage evaluations and reports.
Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including health authorities and professional organizations.
Leadership and Support: Provide leadership and support for academic staff and students, ensuring effective programme management and compliance with accreditation requirements.
He korero mou| About youTo be successful in this role you will have: Nursing and Educational Qualifications: Current New Zealand Registered Nurse with a practicing certificate and a relevant postgraduate qualification (PhD preferred).
Extensive Experience: Significant nursing practice experience and expertise in curriculum development for undergraduate and post-registration nursing education.
Leadership and Management: Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in teaching and programme development in health science/nursing education.
Cultural Competence: Understanding of cultural safety principles, commitment to a culturally safe environment, and appreciation of te reo me ona tikanga Maori.
Interpersonal and Networking Skills: Ability to inspire and lead colleagues, plan and achieve objectives, relate to staff and students at all levels, and network with various health and disability-related agencies.
