Mo tenei mahi | About this job As Kaiarataki Ako , your key focus will bethe implementation, management and monitoring of programmes across the takiwa(region). In doing this, you'll provideeffective leadership and management to a team of 6 Kaiwhakahaere Ako (Managers– Educational Delivery) located in Taranaki, Whanganui, Heretaunga, Levin andPapaioea.
Other than the day-to-day requirements of theposition, which are outlined in the position description (link below), this isa very real chance for you to be a fresh set of eyes on things. You'll beempowered by the takiwa leadership team and have the support of your directreports and other Kaiarataki Ako within the takiwa, to continue to review and enhancethe tauira experience and future-proof our academic programmes.

Mou | About you You'll be an exceptional people leaderwho has successfully coached and developed highly capable, engaged teams. You'll be able to demonstrate how you'veachieved results through others, guided and empowered managers to be successfulleaders, and created a culture of trust and accountability where people takeownership of their results.
It is important that you are someone whois able to uphold the mana and tikanga of Te Kei takiwa, while also being a leaderand driver of Kaupapa Maori.
Your experience as a tertiary educatorwill give you the credibility and understanding you need to influence others,make sound decisions and guide improvements in your space. That experience will also allow you to effectivelymonitor and measure programmes, analyse and report on results, and ensurecompliance and best practice at every turn.
This role will require you to travel to othercampuses within the takiwa, so a full drivers' licence and the flexibility foroccasional overnight stays are required.
While not essential, a Masters' qualification inEducation or a Post Graduate qualification in education or research would beideal as would experience delivering programmes in a kaupapa Maori environment. Fluency in te reo Maori would be very usefulin this position but, again, is not essential; more important is yourwillingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understandingof Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture and tikanga).
As akaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture andtikanga) will be key.
