We have a permanent, part time (0.6 FTE) Nurse Specialist position available. The Nurse Specialist is an expert in assessment skills, diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options that underpin practice. This role has specialist knowledge of complex conditions which is central to the role. Case management and coordination of the tamariki and their whanau with health professionals and both inpatient and community professionals is integral.In this role as an Orthopaedic Nurse Specialist, you will collaborate closely with our Orthopaedic Specialists at Starship Child Health. The Nurse Specialist will ensure coordination of planned or acute care of varying complexity. This includes coordination of care in the pre-hospital, hospital, and community settings. You will work closely with a wider team of Orthopaedic Specialists, Nurse Specialists, Senior Nurses, Nursing teams and the wider multidisciplinary and community teams and services. Working together to foster the provision of positive outcomes and experiences for tamariki and their whanau.For all aspects of this role and experience/knowledge required please see the position description.For further information about the position please contact the Surgical Nurse Unit Manager,Kelly Olliff on ******** or ******** Pukenga Motuhake | Important SkillsTo be successful you will: * Have NZ Nursing Registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate * Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand * Have Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice * Have Project management experience * Have minimum level 3/4 PDRP * Demonstrate knowledge of nursing professional development issues * Have a Master's degree in nursing or health related area (Desired) * Have at least 5 years of nursing experience (Desired) * Have experience in a Paediatric and/or Orthopaedic settings (Desired)If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from youKo wai matou | Who are weWe are Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, Te Toka Tumai Auckland.
