A Motor Mechanic at Surge AutoTech Limited is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, conducting repairs, performing scheduled maintenance, and ensuring vehicles meet roadworthiness standards.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle parts using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.
Check parts for wear and tear and determine the need for repair or replacement.
Repair or replace worn and defective parts.
Reassemble mechanical components, ensuring all parts are fitted correctly.
Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups.
Ensure compliance with pollution regulations and maintain vehicle performance.
Reassemble engines and other vehicle parts after repairs.
Test and adjust mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and safety.
Use computer-assisted diagnostic equipment to test and diagnose vehicle parts.
The minimum qualification and work experience requirements:
·       NZQF Level 4 qualification OR
·       At least three years of relevant work experience
 
Other s kills required:

Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools
Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical components
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service skills
Valid driver’s license
Being able to work on weekends
