Meadow is a vibrant, modern neighbourhood restaurant that is a local for many of our customers.At Meadow we serve up light, uncomplicated bistro fare (with a Meadow twist), have a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients while always ensuring we provide our customers with a consistent food experience. We are looking for an Lead/Head Chef to take the lead in our kitchen. You will be passionate about food and service and have the ability to develop and motivate our back of house team. Experience working in a kitchen that produces cabinet food would be an advantage, to assist with our cabinet food offer during the day.We would love to hear from you if you:Fully qualified with experience in a senior Chef position or have of 2-3 years experience as a senior Sous Chef and now ready to leadare passionate about foodwant to excelare willing to always learn and to teach and empowerhave a burning desire to produce the best food possibleare ideally available to work days, nights and weekends on a rostered basisare eligible to work in New Zealand.This position requires a mature, experienced professional with proven creative ability who is calm under pressure and can achieve the highest standards of cuisine in the industry. We want someone who would enjoy leading and being part of a small team committed to providing an excellent culinary experience for our customers. Job tasks and responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities and tasks will include:Help in the preparation of the brunch, lunch and evening menusLead the team to assist product a sought after cabinet food offerProduce high quality plates both design and taste wise. Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standardsResourcefully solve any issues that arise and be confident to take control of any situation as requiredBudgeting and cost control in the kitchenComply with Health and Safety Regulations and food preparation guidelinesTeam building and motivatingMaintain a positive and professional approach with the Meadow team and the Meadow customer.Skills and experienceFully qualified with experience in a senior Chef position or have of 2-3 years experience as a senior Sous Chef and now ready to leadUnderstanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresExcellent record of kitchen and staff managementAccuracy and speed in handling situations and providing solutionsFamiliar with industry's best practicesAbsolute commitment to surpassing customer expectationsGood planning and analytical skillsHealth and Safety Regulations and food preparation guidelines.Flexibility to work shifts – inclusive of weekendsAbility to adapt to large group and event bookings requirements.
