BYD Auto Ltd is based in Christchurch. We are looking for an experienced vehicle painter to join us. This is a full time role with minimum 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The main duty of this role is to prepare vehicle surfaces, match and mix colours,  and apply paint.
Tasks Include:
·  Removing rough spots on vehicle panels to prepare further work.
·  Sanding surfaces by hand or with power tools
·  Masking areas are not to be painted with cover, tape and paper.
·  Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades and selecting pre-mixed paint.
·  Applying primer and finishing coats using spray guns  and sanding surfaces between coats
·  Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
·  Removing masking papers and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
·  If may, painting signs and artwork on vehicles
·  If may, treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals
The successful candidate must have:

At least three years of relevant work experience OR NZ Level 4 relevant Certificate qualification or equivalent.
Good work attitude and good communication skills
Strong motivation
Physical fitness and could handle the heavy workload
Quality workmanship and eye for detail
Strong dedication to health and workplace safety
Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other team members.
Strong ability to work independently
