We aspire to having a workforce reflective of the communities we serve and achieving equitable outcomes for all.Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityTe Whatu Ora I Te Toka Tumai has four adult community mental health centres (CMHCs): Manaaki House (Panmure), Cornwall House (Greenlane), Taylor Centre (Ponsonby) and Kainga Tiaki (Mt Eden).As a consultant psychiatrist at Te Toka Tumai, you will thrive in a vibrant, innovative and diverse multidisciplinary environment. You will have many opportunities to develop and specialise as well as receiving ongoing support and mentoring from highly experienced clinicians.The community mental health teams provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic treatment options in collaboration with service users, their families/whānau, and local communities. This is achieved through the assessment and management of the complex health needs of service users, with the provision of effectively planned, episodic care that supports them to manage their overall healthcare needs along with home-based treatment options available.We are located close to the University of Auckland Medical School, providing opportunities for involvement in formal teaching programmes and supervision of medical students and Psychiatric Trainees. Proximity to the University can also bring opportunities for research collaboration.We encourage and support the development of leadership skills in our Consultant Psychiatrists, with opportunities to apply for formal leadership positions.Minimum Requirements:You will be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate or be eligible for registration.You will have experience and interest in providing a high-quality service to service users experiencing moderate to severe mental ill-health in a community setting.A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori is essential.You will hold a full and clean driver’s license as this role involves some community work.We recognise there is more to life than mahi | work, and we encourage and provide access to all our staff several services and benefits to support themselves whilst they are employed within Te Whatu Ora I Te Toka Tumai.
