Chef Or Barista

Who we are Hope Kitchen Café is a vibey cafe with homemade food, great service, and a loyal clientele.
Our range of food is traditional kiwi comfort food, with the latest recipe thrown in for good measure.
Our regulars are business-people, parents, youth, and retired.
We have it all.
Our Heartbeat Whanau and food are our passion.
Alongside the city itself, which is why all of our profit goes back into this community.
Most recently we've taken on Common Good Coffee as our coffee supplier because they too invest their profit back into global communities where help is needed the most.
The Need Sadly, one of our staff is leaving, so we're on the lookout for a Chef or Barista to fill the gap in our staffing needs.
Chef If you're a chef, you need to have prior experience in a cafe or other hospitality operation.
You will be confident working independently, in a team, and occasionally under pressure.
You will be proficient in cooking, plating up, and serving.
Some baking skill is required.
The hours will be 9.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.
There is some flexibility in work times which can be discussed as needed.
Barista If you're a barista, you need to have espresso experience, be capable of working at speed, and have good customer service skills.
This role includes making all beverages, serving customers, and assisting the cafe manager as directed.
Speed, initiative, and a high standard of service are essential.
A barista training certificate is not necessary but preferred.
The hours will be 10am to 2.30pm, Tuesday to Friday.
There is some flexibility in work times which can be discussed as needed.
