INSIDE Recruitment are supporting the OSPRI Technology Solutions group recruit a number of roles in their new structure. The Technology Solutions group is responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of all OSPRI applications and infrastructure, including the management of vendors to deliver the required services to support OSPRI enterprise and technology solutions required for national animal disease management. This group will also have spatial analysis and reporting responsibilities to support the wider OSPRI organisation.
The Solution Architect will be the most senior technologist in the team and report to the CIO. We are looking for a strong hands-on allrounder (apps, data, integration, infra, CLOUD) Architect who is able to have an Enterprise view when required.
You will be responsible for providing consistent oversight of architectural tasks, establishing best practices to minimise technical debt, and aligning technology solutions with OSPRI’s strategic goals. This role builds expertise in enterprise and solution architecture to lead the delivery of services from external providers to fit OSPRI’s technology roadmap, Enterprise Architecture and supporting informed technology strategy and investment decisions.
Accountabilities:- Maintaining our Enterprise Architecture in relation to changes to the Organisational strategy and assuring our architecture aligns.
- Driving quality and consistency of technical solutions through management and application of architecture standards, guidelines, and practices across the Technology Solutions Team and our external partners.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyse business needs and objectives.
- Creating detailed, feasible, and scalable technical solutions that align with business goals.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate tools, frameworks, and technologies for implementation.
- Producing comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams and technical specifications.
- Overseeing the development and implementation process to ensure our projects stay on track and meet defined objectives and security standards.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a solution architect role and a medium or large organisation.
- Good working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture including relevant frameworks like TOGAF.
- Extensive experience in Azure Architecture with current Azure Expert qualifications.
- Prior experience working with Azure DevOps for CI/CD with IAC (Terraform, Bicep etc).
- Proven experience in modern architecture methodologies, frameworks, toolsets, and approaches.
- Prior experience working with security frameworks like NZISM, NIST and OWASP.
- Prior experience developing and implementing Integration architectures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and in writing) with a wide range of people in different situations to explain, persuade, convince, and influence others.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
