The role ensures that the needs and perspectives of Maori people are at the forefront of decision-making processes and that the organisation operates in alignment with Maori cultural values and principles.Key responsibilities include:Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholdersDriving strategic planning and governance to promote the well-being and success of kiritaki and kaimahi Maori within the organisation and the wider communityContributing to the organisation's commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and inclusionMinimum Requirements:Experience championing te ao Maori within an organisation and influencing widely through cultural knowledge and lived experienceCredibility and a good reputation with Maori networks, government sector and other stakeholdersIn-depth knowledge of tikanga Maori and te reoExperience advising at a senior level working in complex organisations and/or with multiple stakeholdersAbility to model the Trust's whanonga pono valuesThe Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust is an independent, charitable, community rehabilitation and residential provider. We specialise in providing assessments, rehabilitation, and support for those impacted by brain, spinal and other injuries.We recognise that health and disability services do not currently work well for many Maori and Pacific clients and are committed to growing the capability of all our staff to provide culturally responsive services.
