About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Systems to lead the delivery of business-critical applications and contribute to a major IT transformation initiative.
Reporting to the CIO and part of the senior leadership team, you'll oversee the full application lifecycle—from design, procurement, and development through to support and optimisation.
In this role, you'll lead multiple teams across Business Systems and Business Intelligence, ensuring services meet both current and future organisational needs.
You will play a pivotal role in defining the technology roadmap, driving the shift from high-code to low-code/no-code environments, and ensuring effective governance and delivery of core services.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of core application services, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and organisational priorities.
Establish and communicate a clear vision for IT service delivery, transitioning the organisation towards modular, low-code/no-code frameworks to streamline processes and reduce reliance on high-code solutions.
Drive application rationalisation, managing a portfolio of systems at different stages of their lifecycle to optimise performance and ensure effective resource utilisation.
Engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure technology solutions are fit-for-purpose and support business growth and innovation.
Lead strategic initiatives to modernise the IT landscape, develop technology roadmaps, and support the organisation's digital transformation agenda.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships to deliver projects on time and within scope, while evaluating emerging technologies to inform future investments.
Contribute to the effective management and leadership of the IT department, exemplifying a collaborative, strategic, and results-oriented culture.
About You: To excel in this role, you will bring: Proven experience in a senior IT leadership position, managing complex application services and driving large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
A deep understanding of systems development, software lifecycle management, and a track record of implementing modern technology solutions in a complex environment.
Strong strategic and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Experience managing a mix of on-premise, SaaS, and cloud-based solutions, with expertise in driving transitions to low-code/no-code platforms.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and build strong working relationships.
