**Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and confident Communications Specialist to join our team in Wellington.
In this part-time role, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing effective communication strategies to enhance our brand presence, engage stakeholders, and ensure clarity in messaging across various channels.
**Responsibilities:** - **Content Development:** Create, edit, and distribute high-quality content for internal and external communications including press releases, newsletters, website, and social media platforms.
- **Stakeholder Engagement:** Work closely with various departments to gather information and craft messages that resonate with targeted audiences.
- **Media Relations:** Build and maintain relationships with media representatives; respond to media inquiries and coordinate press conferences or media events as necessary.
- **Strategic Communication Planning:** Assist in developing and implementing strategic communication plans and campaigns to support company initiatives and promote brand awareness.
- **Crisis Communication:** Support the management team in developing effective communication strategies during crisis situations, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.
- **Social Media Management:** Monitor and manage the company's social media presence; analyze engagement metrics to enhance communication strategies and improve audience reach.
- **Market Research:** Conduct research on industry trends and competitor communication efforts; leverage insights to tailor internal and external messages effectively.
- **Reporting:** Prepare regular reports on communication activities, campaigns, and media coverage to track the effectiveness of strategies and recommend improvements.
- **Team Collaboration:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in messaging and branding across all platforms.
- **Continuous Learning:** Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in communications, digital marketing, and public relations to maintain innovative and effective approaches.
**Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to create engaging content that meets high-quality standards for various channels.
- Experience in managing social media platforms and understanding of analytics tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Dedicated, confident personality with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to think critically and make decisions promptly.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of laboratory services or healthcare communication is a plus.
