We are delighted to be partnering with BMC Lawyers, a well-established and recognized firm in the greater Wellington region, as we undertake a search for a Graduate up to a Senior Solicitor to join their Family team in Paraparaumu, Kapiti.

BMC Lawyers is a community-focused and full-service law firm with offices in Kapiti and Porirua. With well-established roots in the Wellington region, they have an excellent reputation in the local market as well as a loyal client base.

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has now come available for a Graduate or a more experienced Solicitor to join their Family team in their Kapiti office. The role will allow you to work alongside a pre-eminent Principal, Nicola Tutt, who leads the Litigation team and comes from a highly decorated background including an extensive advocacy background in the District Court for both public sector and private practice organisations.

This role will largely consist of Family Legal Aid including Care of Children, Family Violence, and Child Support work. You will have the opportunity to work closely with groups such as the Women's Refuge, as well as affording you the chance to spend plenty of time in court.

About You

This role will suit a Graduate who is in the process of completing their Profs or a Solicitor who is motivated to specialise in Family law and build their litigation experience.

You will enjoy having autonomy and responsibility for your work, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to demonstrate the personality to work in a cohesive team and to build strong relationships with the community, your colleagues, and clients.
