Weta FX is the standard-bearer for creativity and innovation in visual effects and animation, attracting talent, partners, and clients that seek to push what is possible in pursuit of their artistic vision.
Our Rotoscope department handles creating accurate, detailed spline based roto mattes for the Compositing team, assisting with the integration of CG and live action, to create seamless visual effects shots.
In this role, you'll collaborate with senior artists and contribute to creating seamless visual experiences for blockbuster films.
What you'll do:
Assist with creating detailed roto mattes.
Accurately trace objects, characters, and other key elements to assist with compositing.
Collaborate with compositors to ensure seamless integration of live-action and CG elements.
Maintain a high standard of quality and detail.
Troubleshoot and solve minor roto-related issues as they arise.
Ensure timely delivery of roto assets to compositing teams while meeting production deadlines.
What you'll bring:
Basic knowledge of rotoscoping software (e.g., Silhouette, Nuke).
Experience with Nuke, Maya and Mocha.
A keen eye for detail and precision.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
An ability to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines.
A passion for the visual effects industry.
