Our client is a leading independent communications agency that partners with CEOs, Boards, and senior business leaders to provide expert communications strategy and corporate affairs advisory. They work with some of the most recognised organisations in New Zealand and the region, advising on corporate reputation, crisis and issues management, public affairs and stakeholder engagement.

With a deep focus on understanding stakeholder expectations, they help businesses navigate complex societal and reputational dynamics. Their approach is grounded in insights and analysis, ensuring clients can engage meaningfully with the people who matter on the issues that count, building trust, credibility and long-term success.

The Role

As a Senior Consultant, You Will
  • Provide expert counsel to senior leaders on corporate reputation, stakeholder engagement, media engagement, crisis communications, financial communications, and regulatory issues, delivering high-impact advisory services.
  • Advise C-suite executives and Boards, shaping strategic communications to protect and enhance business reputation.
  • Support the MD on key clients, delivering exceptional communications counsel and contributing to strategic decision-making, leveraging your network.
  • Partner with the senior team to strengthen the agency's presence in New Zealand and support long-term growth.
  • Lead and support high-value client relationships, applying critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity to solve problems.
  • Drive business development, leveraging your expertise and network to expand the agency's client portfolio.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess:
  • At least 10+ years' experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs, or public affairs, with a strong background in advisory roles at a senior level. Agency experience is preferred.
  • Experience in offering clear, strategic communications counsel at the C-suite and Board level.
  • Experience working on high-profile corporate and reputational challenges in complex industries.
  • The ability to work autonomously, applying critical thinking, creativity, and a commercial mindset with confidence to drive client engagements.
  • A strong business development track record, identifying opportunities to grow and strengthen client relationships.
