Work Broker | Auckland Central East Region | Secondment/Fixed-Term

  • Full-time (37.55 hours per week)
  • Location: Highland Park Service Centre
  • Salary: $78,222 – $94,689 (based on experience and skills)

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual who can hit the ground running and proactively engage with local employers to create sustainable job opportunities. Experience in employment services or recruitment is advantageous

As a Work Broker, your role is to build strong relationships with employers, understand their hiring needs, and match them with the right candidates. You'll be advocating for clients, promoting their skills, and supporting them through the job placement process.

This role is ideal for those with a background in recruitment, talent acquisition, business development or industry experience in Healthcare, Construction, Retail, Education & Training, Manufacturing and Horticulture.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to create job opportunities and support sustainable employment outcomes.
• Work closely with businesses to establish and promote vacancies, manage the recruitment process, and assist with onboarding and induction.
• Educate employers on MSD's products and services, ensuring they are aware of available support and incentives.
• Work with colleagues across the Waikato region, including Case Managers to connect clients to seasonal and permanent work.
• Advocate for clients by matching them to suitable roles and promoting their skills to potential employers.
• Ensure that internal systems are kept up to date, recording all interactions with employers and clients.
• Work with the Labour Market Team to complement Immigration, Skills for Industry and Cadetship work programmes.
• Support Connected and Service Centre activity, which may include reporting, spreadsheet analysis, outbound calling and texting.

What you'll bring | Ngā pūkenga kauneke

• Proven experience in recruitment, sales, business development or a similar role where relationship-building with employers is key.
• A focus on results with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, job placement targets and navigate setbacks.
• Confidence in cold calling, networking, and using technology to source employment opportunities.
• The ability to identify job opportunities and know what strategies to engage employers considering the local labour market.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to travel within the region to meet employers as required.

A minimum restricted NZ Driver Licence and the ability to travel around Auckland Central East region are essential for this role.
