He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking to appoint General Radiologists to work up to 40 hours per week. Available positions are based in the Bay of Plenty at either Tauranga or Whakatāne Hospital.
Special interest in Paediatric and/or Chest imaging would be beneficial, though all areas of subspecialty interest would be considered.
The Tauranga Radiology department comprises of four general rooms (includes one room in the Emergency Department), two Toshiba CT scanners, five colour doppler ultrasound machines, a Siemens fluoroscopy suite. A private MRI facility is operational on-site.
The Whakatāne radiology department comprises of two general rooms, a Toshiba Prime CT scanner and two colour doppler ultrasound machines.
The appointee would join a medical staff of 21 other Radiologists and 6 Registrars. The radiology services workload comprises of general radiology, ultrasound, MDCT, angiography and a range of interventional procedures. An on-call component allows us to offer a 24-hour acute service with overnight reporting provided by teleradiology services.
Applicants must be eligible for registration as a Specialist Diagnostic Radiologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand. We are open to receiving applications from Radiologists seeking full-time and part-time hours, please state in your cover letter how many hours you wish to be considered for.
