We are looking for an experienced and strategic Inventory Planning Manager to join our team at Farro. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and extensive experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, this could be the perfect role for youAs the Inventory Planning Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our inventory health, ensuring that our stock levels are optimised to meet customer demand and our financial targets. You will play a pivotal role in supporting category decisions through a strong commercial lens, leveraging your expertise to drive strategic initiatives and enhance overall business performance. As a newly created position, you will be helping develop new systems and processes, whilst embedding best planning practices across the business to support great commercial outcomes. This role will report directly into the CEO and be a member of the executive team so that it can have a real impact.Key Responsibilities:Leadership: Lead and mentor the Demand and Replenishment Planner, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Ensure alignment with overall inventory strategies and business objectives.Stock Health Management: Own the health of our stock, implementing strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels. This includes managing Open-to-Buy (OBT), stock investment, and forecasting to balance stock levels effectively.Inventory Control: Oversee all aspects of inventory control, including OBT, stock investment, and forecasting. Utilise advanced forecasting techniques and tools to accurately predict demand and ensure timely stock replenishment.Category Support: Provide strategic guidance to the category team on assortment decisions. Aid in range review processes such as range construction, range curation, Pareto analysis, good-better-best strategies, SKU segmentation principles, hierarchy, and range classes. Your insights will help shape a well-balanced and profitable product mix.Pricing Articulation: Assist the category team with pricing strategies, establishing high, medium, and low sensitivity levels. Analyse market trends and competitor pricing to inform and optimise our pricing decisions.Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, overseeing active, inactive, and obsolete lines. Develop and implement strategies for product transitions, ensuring smooth phase-ins and phase-outs.Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis and provide insights on sales and stock performance. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track inventory health and support strategic decision-making.Collaboration: Work closely with Suppliers, Finance, Marketing, and Category teams to ensure informed and cohesive decision-making. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in inventory management. Stay updated with industry trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement and maintain a competitive edge.What We're Looking For:Extensive FMCG Experience: Proven experience in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, with a deep understanding of shelf-life complexities and managing a large number of products and suppliers.Commercial Insight: Strong understanding of the retail business model and extensive experience in a senior inventory management role. Ability to balance commercial objectives with customer satisfaction.Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse data to make strategic decisions. Proficiency in inventory management software and tools.Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.Proactive Attitude: Energetic, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently from start to finish. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.Customer Focus: A genuine passion for good food and a commitment to maintaining a customer-centric culture. Ability to anticipate customer needs and adjust inventory strategies accordingly.Team Player: Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and contribute to a positive team environment.
