We are currently hiring for the position of Legal Counsel - Generalist .

What will you be responsible for? As a Legal Counsel, you will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate, commercial, and financial services related legal issues. This includes :

General advice and guidance
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements and documents, including insurer terms of business, terms of engagement, delegated authority, confidentiality, consultancy, and supplier agreements
Financial services regulation and change
Insurance broker duties and obligations, including disclosure and conflicts of interest
Litigation and dispute resolution
Reviewing marketing and communication material
Projects and strategic initiatives
Privacy and confidentiality

Our ideal candidate will have experience advising within the insurance industry and an understanding of the evolving regulatory environment for insurance brokers and insurers, including Financial Advice and CoFI.
You will work closely with your colleagues within Risk & Compliance and provide support to our Insurance Broking and Advisory business, as well as the Senior Legal Counsel and Chief Counsel.
There is also considerable opportunity to broaden and develop your knowledge, skills, and experience within the Wealth & Investment industry and Marsh McLennan more generally.
What qualifications do you need? To be considered for this role, you should have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience with a current practicing certificate or the ability to obtain one.
Ideally, you will have experience within the insurance industry, but experience gained in financial services within a law firm or large corporate organization will also be considered.
Litigation experience is an advantage but not essential.
