Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Waikato serves a population of more than 425,000 and covers more than 21,000km.
It stretches from northern Coromandel to close to Mt Ruapehu in the south, and from Raglan on the west coast to Waihi on the east.
Waikato Hospital is a 600-bed teaching hospital and is the tertiary referral centre for a population of almost 900,000.
Our Anaesthetic Department has over 70 consultant anaesthetists and 30 doctors in training, comprising of SHOs, registrars and fellows.
We have a strong reputation for teaching and research, with an academic professor, a PhD student, a research scientist and three research nurses supporting our team.
We are a large, vibrant, supportive department, and each year we look forward to welcoming new fellows into our family.
The Fellowship opportunity: Fellow positions at Waikato Hospital Department of Anaesthesia are available in the areas of regional, cardiac, obstetric anaesthesia, simulation, and research.
We also have experience and the opportunities to create a fellowship tailored to your needs by negotiation.
This year we are excited to announce a new Fellowship- Te Manawa Taki Rural Generalist Fellowship - with 6 months in Waikato Hospital and a 6 month secondment to Gisborne Hospital.
