Our Architecture Practice is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join the team based here in our Auckland R&D center of excellence.Our mission is building a world-first SaaS vertical for animal health, integrating our portfolio of products to work together as one ecosystem. We're transitioning individual products into an enterprise scale offering. Our portfolio ranges in maturity, but in some instances, legacy architecture needs modernising to operate at enterprise scale with safety and responsiveness that customers will expect. Our architecture, design, and engineering practices need modernising, scaling, and predictability built-in so we're able to integrate and scale as one. Gnarly challenge indeedIf you want to work with real purpose, solving key challenges in the animal health industry with innovative cloud software, this is the opportunity for youWhere you'll playWork with product teams to determine the technical requirements for features on the application roadmapContribute to and lead the creation of technical features for the application roadmapProvide design recommendations based on long-term organisation strategyAlign architecture with overall Company application architecture standards to ensure smooth and efficient operationDetermine specifications and plans, designs and develop application solutions, utilising appropriate software processesCreate architecture and development standardsParticipate in the development of new product requirements, features, and designResearch and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible applications to the businessAct as internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agentProduction of documentation to assist in planning for the future of the productDocumenting architectural decisions (reasoning)What you'll need:Seasoned software engineering expertise, familiar with PHP, Go-Lang, Typescript, Python, SQL etc. Importantly, you are hands-on with regards to architecture designProven expertise with SaaS software architecture at scale and AWS experience/qualifications will helpSound understanding of business requirements and translating these into conceptual, logical, and physical modelsGenuine collaboration, capable of strategising an approach to a problem that inspires/influences others to buy-inHighly effective technical coach and mentor for engineering teamsFamiliarity with multiple web and cloud technologies and an unbiased scientific approach to technology selectionWhat you can expect from us:Structured onboarding, induction, ongoing training and transparent performance-driven professional developmentRewarding salary package ($140k-$180k base range) + lucrative incentive schemes for allContinuous L&D (both internal and externally)Great tech kit for both work and personal useHybrid working (4-1 currently) with a great office space to collaborate - including a gym and rooftop barCoffee + snacks + catered lunches at least twice a weekAnimal-friendly officeWhy IDEXX:We're proud of the work we do, because our work matters.
