CCS Disability Action's vision is to see every disabled person / whānau hauā interwoven into the lives of their whānau and community.
CCS Disability Action is the largest pan-disability support and advocacy organisation in New Zealand. We have been working with disabled people / whānau hauā and their families since 1935 and are at the forefront of service provision, advocacy and information sharing New Zealand wide.
We have an exciting opportunity for a key leadership role.
Supporting the CE, the primary purpose of the role is to implement the vision and purpose of CCS Disability Action through the quality delivery and development of CCS Disability Action services throughout the Southern Region (South Island).
Additionally, you will participate as part of a national leadership team in strategic, service, and business developments as well as providing local branch-based leaders with guidance, support, and coaching.
Ideally you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to actively work with, the Treaty of Waitangi, the NZ Disability Strategy and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
- Experience in reporting accountability or management reporting.
- Effective team management approach.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in a disability or related organisation.
- Proven experience of developing and delivering quality services.
- Personal experience of disability.
- Sound understanding of the social model of disability, the transformation of disability sector (including Enabling Good Lives) and ability to relate to people.
- Innovative thinking, with proven ability to find new approaches and solutions to long term issues.
- A strong focus on planning for deliverables and results.
- Excellent relationship management and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and experience in rights-based service delivery.
- A tertiary qualification and management experience.
