This is a standout opportunity for an experienced TMT/IT lawyer to join a highly respected practice in Auckland, working at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, media, and telecommunications matters across New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The team is known for its deep sector knowledge, long-standing client relationships, and commercially pragmatic approach, offering an exceptional platform for a senior practitioner to advance their career. You will act for a diverse and sophisticated client base, including major private and public sector organisations, emerging tech innovators, investors, broadcasters, media platforms, and health-related entities. The work spans the full spread of TMT mandates—from large-scale technology procurement and supply arrangements to commercial contracting, licensing, digital content issues, privacy and cyber matters, gaming, media and entertainment queries, marketing initiatives, and production-related work within the TV and film space. There is also close collaboration with a busy corporate team on significant tech and telco transactions, giving you a steady stream of varied, high-value, and intellectually engaging matters. The ideal candidate will bring: 7+ years' dedicated TMT experience gained in private practice or in‑house A strong track record advising on the full spectrum of TMT matters Expertise in privacy, data protection and cyber Excellent drafting and negotiation skills Solid understanding of key regulatory frameworks relevant to the sector A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in contributing to a cohesive, high‑performing team Applicants from overseas common law jurisdictions are welcome, provided they can meet admission requirements and are prepared to relocate to New Zealand.
