Join Limitless Stainless, a creative engineering and design business in Wanaka, where we tackle everything from bespoke mechanical projects to product development and custom fabrication — all with a bit of southern flair and a sense of humour.Who We're looking For We’re after 3 motivated Stainless Steel Welders / Metal Fabricators who are passionate about solving problems and building high-quality work. The roles are based in Wanaka and are offered on a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week), permanent basis between 7am to 5pm Monday-Thursday – 4-day week About this Role The Stainless Steel Welder / Metal Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and welding of metal components to engineering specifications. The role requires strong technical knowledge of welding processes, metalworking equipment, and fabrication techniques.   K ey Duties & Responsibilities 1. Fabrication & Assembly • Read and interpret engineering drawings, workshop sketches, and technical specifications • Measure, mark out, cut, and shape metal using saws, guillotines, grinders, flame cutters, and plasma cutters • Fabricate metal structures, frameworks, beams, brackets, and custom components • Assemble components using jigs and fixtures ensuring correct alignment and tolerances 2. Welding Operations • Set up, operate, and maintain MIG, TIG, MMA, and flux-core welding equipment • Weld mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and other alloys to required standards • Conduct structural welding and pressure welding following WPS • Perform weld tests, tack welding, and final welding ensuring accuracy and structural integrity 3. Fitting, Forming & Machining • Fit and join metal components by welding, bolting, or riveting • Bend, roll, and form metal using hydraulic presses and rollers • Perform grinding, finishing, dressing, and post-weld treatment of components • Assemble, install, or repair machinery parts, metal frames, and structural elements 4. Quality Control & Inspection • Inspect welds and finished components for accuracy and compliance • Identify defects and perform corrective rework • Conduct non-destructive testing as required • Maintain documentation and quality records 5. Health, Safety & Equipment Care • Follow workplace H&S protocols and use correct PPE • Maintain welding equipment and workshop machinery • Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions • Use lifting equipment and manual handling techniques safely 6. General Workshop Duties • Prepare and clean materials before fabrication or welding • Maintain a tidy and organised work area • Assist with project planning and layout • Communicate effectively with supervisors and tradespeople What Kind Of Work Do We Do? ·         Commercial & Residential bench tops folded and 5mm ss plate. ·         Commercial kitchen fit outs. ·         Shower trays and shower channels. ·         Level entry threshold grates. ·         Balustrades and banister handrails. ·   Sheetmetal work and a wide variety of Custom/Bespoke fabrication including some            Aluminum welding and fabrication. What do you we need you to bring to the table? ·         Equivalent to NZQF Level 4 trade qualification or at least 3 years relevant experience ·         Welding tickets (e.g., AS/NZS ISO 9606 or ASME) beneficial ·         Proficiency in CAD design and/or hands-on workshop fabrication ·         An eye for detail and pride in craftsmanship ·         Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do mindset ·         Full Driver licence required to drive work vehicles to sites ·         Creative design (preferred but not essential) ·        Competitive pay $30 per hour minimum - $45 per hour maximum ·        Short week – Long weekend ·         Hands-on variety — no two projects are the same ·         A fun, supportive team that loves a challenge ·         Stunning Wanaka location and flexible lifestyle ·         Opportunities to grow your skills and make your mark on real-world projects  If this is you?  Let’s chat and see if you’re the right fit for the Limitless Stainless team.
