We are a vibrant, inclusive school situated in an amazing rural setting near Hastings. Maraekakaho is a PB4L school with a strong focus on core values, student achievement, and learning in our community.
We are seeking a passionate teacher to guide and extend our Y7–8 students as they prepare for their next step in education. The successful applicant should be an energetic, dedicated teacher who is able to build strong relationships with students to ensure they have targeted learning experiences.
We are in an excellent position to implement the refreshed curriculum and are excited to welcome a forward-thinking teacher who is confident in their ability to teach literacy and mathematics.
Key attributes would be:
The ability to develop self-directed learners who apply their knowledge to achieve their goals and evaluate the outcomes.
Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, whanau, and our community.
The ability to mentor student leaders and support them with running school-wide activities.
A commitment to relational pedagogy and culturally responsive practices.
Organising and running outdoor education activities for our Y7–8 students including camps.
