Permanent, Full TimeRemuneration as per MECA guidelinesDo you have proven clinical and cultural skills and are looking for a change to join a supportive and energetic team?We are seeking a versatile and motivated team player to join the Respiratory team at Counties Manukau District as a Community Health Worker (Sleep).Your main responsibilities as a Community Health Worker in the Sleep team will be to provide outpatient clinics, telephone support, hospital and community-based care to patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, under the supervision of sleep nurses and physiologists. The care provided will include the setting up and fitting of CPAP /Bi-level machines, troubleshooting patients under active treatment of the sleep service, supporting the sleep team by providing cultural support and education to improve the overall patient experience, and the delivery of equipment to and from various sites around the community.You will need excellent organisational, computer and communication skills, be customer service focussed and have a can-do attitude. The ability to work well in a team, multi-task and prioritise within your work environment is essential.You will be given education, training and support while working within a team whose objective is to best meet the needs of families/whaanau in the Counties Manukau region.Essential: Experience using Microsoft excel.Full drivers licence Desired: Previous experience in a health care setting – particularly experience with patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).
