There are different initiatives which all contribute to Pā Ora, Pā Wānanga including the maraes social enterprise Manaaki, which is a range of Māori inspired condiments, Toa Fit, a marae based gym, recently established Māori Kura Te Pā Wānanga, and the introduction of Whānau ora Navigators.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Omaka Marae Komiti are currently seeking to appoint a new Marae Manager who brings management, leadership skills, and experience that will be critical to uphold the Marae strategic vision Pā Orā, Pā Wānanga, centered on whānau transformation. The position is responsible for operations, administration, financial management, staff positions, and development opportunities that ensure the highly effective functioning of the marae.The position requires a motivated self-starter with a proven track record of project management and delivery success within a Māori context. Strong leadership skills, high level of technology competence, effective administration and organisational knowledge, prudent financial management, and transparent reporting skills are vital to this role. Substantial communication and relationship skills that foster unity and support working collaboratively with the marae trustees, marae whanau, marae users, and the wider community are essential.Key Result AreaStrategic Leadership:A robust long-term investment strategy is developed that clearly articulates the future state of Omaka Marae.Measurable steps are developed to achieve the agreed long-term vision.Strategic alliances are built to enable the transparent development and execution of Omaka Marae strategy.Omaka marae Komiti is involved in the development of strategy and is informed and consulted on key issues and progress towards strategic priorities.Operational Management:Annual Statements of Intent and budgets are developed with input from the Komiti.Operational priorities and budgets outlined in the statement of intent are met.Operational risks are identified and mitigated appropriately.Statement of Investment Policies and Objectives is monitored.Reports and papers to the Komiti are presented in a timely manner, with robust analysis, accuracy, financial prudence, and a clear strategic intent.Timely and accurate reports are provided on financial performance against budget.Provide operational oversight and responsibility for the finance function.Business Development:Existing investments are regularly scrutinized to ensure they are sustainable and contributing to long-term objectives.New business sector opportunities are identified and investigated using criteria that align with four pou expectations.Opportunities for mutually beneficial joint ventures and collaboration are actively pursued.Greater levels of business sustainability and agility are developed in response to various sector changes.Innovation and new business opportunities are developed and implemented within commercial subsidiaries to diversify revenue sources and deliver commercial returns.Driving Organisational Performance:The organisational culture is consistent with the values.
