Role Purpose
Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprintsUse computer software 2D (AutoCAD®) and 3D (SolidWorks®) CAD packages to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly.Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.Prepare and operate CNC router to perform tasks such as 2D and 3D profile cutting and drillingPerform quality assurance inspections to completed parts to ensure products meet design specifications.Supervise CNC router while fabricating parts and be able to adjust as required to ensure part quality.Effective recordkeeping following and completing job instructions.Manage work order closures and stock control transactions  Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing processRegular check and balances to maintain the CNC router to ensure correct functionality.Weekly cleaning and maintenance of the machines. Proactive attitude to all tasks, with the ability to provide process improvement input. Work from engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications to assemble tooling jigs.Working with small shop power tools when required (saws, routers, sanders, and grinders).Operate Forklift Truck as and when required Quality Assurance
Application of all practices in accordance with the Quality Assurance Manual exposition for compliance with Civil Aviation Rule Part 148 (Manufacturing Organisations).Health & Safety
Adhere to safe work practices in accordance with the relevant statutory, regulatory and company directives by:wearing the appropriate protective clothing and equipment where requiredfollowing established procedures to ensure safe performance of a given taskreporting all occupational injury, illness, near miss incidents, environmental spills or fire, regardless of its severity, to a supervisorreporting hazards which may result in an injury, illness, spill or fire to a supervisor or Health & Safety representativeadvising Health & Safety representatives and relevant staff members when unsafe acts and/or conditions occurcorrecting unsafe conditions when appropriate, possible and safe to do sobehaving in a manner which does not endanger the safety of yourself or othersparticipating in health and safety processes within the workplace including the hazard identification and management processnot carrying out any hazardous task for which you know you have not been formally trained, or for which you are not properly supervisednot operating any piece of machinery or equipment for which they have not been trained and signed off on.Recommend amendments to company procedures to ensure best practices are maintained.Educational Qualifications / Special Skill / Competencies Mandatory Previous work experience as a CNC programmer.Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.Extensive experience with computer modelling software.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline.Ability to stand for extended periods.Ability to lift heavy objects.Planning skills.Strong verbal & written communication skills.Availability to work overtime when required to support manufacturing department.Demonstrated ability to work to changing priorities leadership capability.Decisive and self-starting attitude with energy and motivation to be effective in a very demanding environment.Ability to multitask & solve problems using own initiativeTake ownership and accountability for tasks and eventsA proven commitment to being part of a team-oriented organisation seeking continuous improvement, in an open and 'no surprises' manner in a constantly challenging environment.Engaged and Passionate Team Player.Preferred Aircraft license or similar professional certifications.Previous experience working in an aerospace environment.PC literate in Enterprise Resource Planning software & in MS Office.
