Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support and optimisation.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join and lead our high-performing, mechanical team in Tauranga.

The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 10 staff, comprising of Mechanical Fitters, Pump Station Technicians, and Mechanical Assistants.

As Mechanical Supervisor will liaise directly with our clients - Western Bay of Plenty District Council, and Tauranga City Council so will need experience preferably in a maintenance contract environment or similar, with great people and analytical skills. You are comfortable pulling and reading reports, managing jobs, and ensuring that deadlines are being meet, while guaranteeing safety and high-quality work is kept at the forefront.

Reporting directly to the Wastewater Operations Manager, you will ideally be an experienced Mechanical Fitter, with strong leadership skills who knows how to get the best out of their team.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- At least 4 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preference in a Wastewater environment
- Experience leading and managing a team (this team is about 10 reports)
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Comfortable liaising directly with clients, with strong relationship-building skills
- You take Health & Safety seriously - ensuring your team go home safe every day.
