**The role**
reporting to the Supervisor, you will be working within a small team and primarily responsible for the troubleshooting and finding solutions to keep the lines up and running. You will also:
- Assist and carry out routine maintenance, corrective maintenance, project work and fault finding on all associated HV, LV & sub transmission cables and Zone Substations.
- Work on extra high voltage cables at our Transpower Substations.
- Carry out tests on HV, LV and sub transmission cables and associated Network Equipment.
- Conduct routine faults and fault investigation on the Network.
- Perform High Voltage switching tasks within the Vector Network.
- Carry out standard Standby duties as and when required

**Who we’re looking for**
to be considered for this role you’ll need to have:
- Worked as a Registered Electrician/Technician/Cable Jointer or a Linesmen for a minimum of 3 years.
- A valid NZ Drivers Licence.
- A valid EWRB registration as an Electrician (Holding current practising licence)/Cable Jointer/Line Mechanic or a qualification in switching
- Some exposure to Vector WTC’s for switching & permits.
- Sound technical knowledge of cables and local network systems, procedures and standards
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- A team player and ‘can do’ attitude with strong interpersonal skills working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good customer service skills
