Our New Plymouth team is one of the larger engineering consultancies in the Taranaki area, seeing growth across New Zealand and internationally.

**About the role**

With ongoing growth in our materials handling and water infrastructure projects and projects for defence, mining and hydrocarbon clients, we are looking for a locally based, entry level Trainee** CAD Drafter** who has an interest in working with an Engineering Design team.

This role will involve operating in an CAD environment, working closely with Designers and Engineers to accurately produce piping, mechanical, pressure vessel, pipeline and structural drawings in accordance with LogiCamms and client drafting standards. This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career with a global engineering consultancy and learn from a team of experienced designers working on a variety of innovative projects across multiple industries.

**About you**
- be willing to, have recently completed, or be nearing completion of an Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree course in a Mechanical Engineering field,
- Have proven experience using CAD for engineering or similar drawings,
- A keen interest in the Mechanical Engineering discipline,
- Be confident with you written and verbal communication skills,
- Intermediate skills in MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel)
- Be able to manage your time effectively and work in an engineering team environment.
- **Engineering tradesperson** wishing to move into a drafting role will also be considered.
