- Family Works Northern provides a range of strength-based practice child and family services, programmes and community development initiatives located in eleven community-based centres and numerous schools in the Upper North Island
- Our Rotorua based service is seeking a qualified and experienced counsellor to engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.
- We are looking for someone to commence as soon as possible
- To be successful in this role we need to know you:
- Are familiar with strength-based practice principles
- Are competent in counselling theories
- Are competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
- Are able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
- Experienced in working individually with children, with families, and in group settings
- Enjoy group facilitation
- Thrive in a busy multi-disciplinary team
- Show exemplary professional practice
- Have outstanding communication and people skills
- Have excellent family support,
- Knowledge of tikanga Maori an advantage. assessment and counselling abilities.
- **Membership with the NZAC**
