Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Mana Awhi-Older Peoples' Health Service part of the Community and Long-term Conditions (CLTC) Directorate at Te Toka Tumai, provides inpatient and outpatient services to people aged 65 years and older. The purpose of the Directorate is to provide quality, patient-centred, self-directed care as close to home as possible by working in partnership, enabling self-management, and promoting independence. The service aims to provide world class assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to all our patients to optimise their health, function, and participation. We are friendly and collegial with excellent working relationships with our nursing, allied health, clinical psychology, and Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) colleagues. We are well supported by junior staff, and we take regular annual and CME leave. We have fantastic coffee at Te Toka Tumai from our in-house coffee bar, Planet Espresso
Our team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Geriatrician or Medical Officer who shares both our vision and Te Toka Tumai's vision for better care and leadership for frail older people across the hospital and community settings. The role is not specific to a particular pathway, but we do our best to support peoples' areas of interests and expertise whilst maintaining our general skills with rotation through our pathways at intervals.

**To be eligible**:

- You must currently hold (or be eligible for) Vocational/Specialist Registration in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (org.nz),
- Appropriate postgraduate qualifications, relevant training and experience are required.
