Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Fabrication Foreman oversees the daily running of the weld shop which has a crucial role in the construction, assembly and refit of high-quality marine vessels, survey works and general engineering services. You will lead a team of skilled fabricators and welders, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely and to the highest industry standards.

Your key responsibilities include training, mentoring, and developing team members and ensuring they work cohesively to meet project timelines while maintaining strict safety protocols and practices. Collaborating with other departments, you will plan and execute projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. You will oversee the fabrication and welding processes, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry and company quality standards. Occasionally ‘on the tools’ you will identify and address any technical issues, welding defects, or fabrication challenges as they arise during the construction process. You will also liaise with clients on initial scoping and any changes throughout the course of their project.

To be successful in this role be a qualified welder or fabricator with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team. You will have in-depth knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and industry best practices. Proficiency in reading plans and technical drawings is required and some familiarity with shipbuilding regulations and safety standards will be highly valued. Confidence with Microsoft and other relevant technologies, combined with an innovative approach is needed.
