Our client, a prominent player in the financial sector, is seeking a Senior Automation Tester to lead the testing of their fund transferring process upgrade. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated team of five, fostering a common understanding of business requirements and procedures. This position is based in Wellington and offers flexible working conditions, a modern workplace environment, and an attractive hourly rate for a one-year contract.

**What you'll do**:
As a Senior Automation Tester, you will play a pivotal role in leading the testing of our client's fund transferring process upgrade. You will be responsible for leading critical and lateral thinking for test design, collaborating closely with developers to create automated checks using existing tools. Your ability to foster a common understanding of business requirements within your agile team will be crucial. You will also contribute significantly towards enhancing user experience by clearly communicating defects to the business. Your commitment towards staying updated with latest testing practices and emerging technologies will be highly valued.

Lead critical and lateral thinking for test design, ensuring effective risk mitigation, and uncovering vulnerabilities beyond business requirements.
Collaborate with developers to create automated checks using existing tools.
Foster a common understanding of business requirements, underlying intent, procedures, and systems within your agile team.
Clearly communicate defects to the business and your agile team.
Contribute to a collective focus on user experience.
Engage in agile ceremonies, including stand-up, retrospective, planning, and demonstration, while supporting non-testing tasks to meet team commitments.
Lead testing principles and practices within your agile team and across the organisation.
Stay current with and share updates in testing, agile practices, and emerging technologies for solution delivery.

**What you bring**:
7+ years of automation testing experience.
Strong communication and leadership skills with an ability to ask questions and challenge when necessary.
Proven track record of leading testing principles and practices within your team.
Extensive expertise in creating and maintaining automation test suites including Playwright, Cypress, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Ability to read and debug code for white-box testing.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
(Desirable) Knowledge of mini apps architecture.
(Desirable) Experience with Docker working within cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as a code.
(Desirable) Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD Tooling - creating/manipulating pipelines.
