2x 0.7FTE, positions available (1x permanent; 1x fixed term until June 2023)
- Experience in an acute inpatient setting
- Must be Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and must have a mental health scope of practice.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

We are seeking a registered nurse with clinical experience within an acute inpatient setting to support our New Entry to Specialty Practice Mental Health & Addiction (NESP) nurses, new to mental health practice Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses, and new Hospital Aides by providing coaching within Te Awakura. Ideally you will have experience working as a preceptor.

These positions will be based at Te Awakura (Adult Inpatient Group), a 64-bed adult acute inpatient unit that provides 24 hour care for consumers with mental illness. Our model of care focuses on integrated multidisciplinary teams, providing excellent care for consumers in the least restrictive manner.

**Pehea | About You**

We have two positions available, a 0.7FTE permanent and a 0.7FTE fixed term (until June 2023) position, on a revolving 3 on, 3 off roster covering morning and afternoon shifts.

As a Nurse Coach within Te Awakura you will collaborate and consult with the NESP Nurse Educators and Te Awakura preceptors to determine and deliver coaching needs for new RNs, ENs and Hospital Aides. This will include working alongside these nurses for full rostered shifts and providing small group education sessions, as well as providing structured orientations to new staff.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are imperative for this role, as you will be working closely with preceptors, NESP and EN educators and new staff. It is expected you will have a relevant post graduate nursing qualification and have experience in precepting. You will also need to have significant experience working as an RN in an acute inpatient setting. Experience in delivering in-service or other education to staff at service/divisional/professional or organisational level is desirable but not essential.

Your ability to provide innovative and creative coaching, along with building effective relationships within the service, will be key to your success in this role.
