Assistant Miller

Description of the role

Looking for a hardworking person to join our client’s team as an Assistant Miller. Our client is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers. Their product range includes leading brands of breads, baked goods, small goods, flour, milled products and animal feed.

Working hours: rotating shift Monday to Thursday. 6am to 4pm, 10am to 8pm, 8pm to 6am.

As an Assistant Miller these will be some of your duties:

- Transfer wheat from correct silo to mill
- Condition wheat to optimal moisture level
- Monitor wheat moisture levels at both 1st and 2nd conditioning steps
- Support shift miller to ensure optimal mill performance is achieved
- Maintain quality and food safety in respect
- Communicate effectively with Mill Team Leader to ensure customer needs are met
- Management of housekeeping and surrounds

Skills and qualifications
- City & Guilds/NABIM Qualifications - Technical Cereal Miller (Desirable)
- Baking skill and knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft programs, Lotus notes and SAP (other ERP) software
- Minimum 2 years manufacturing, milling, or baking experience.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Christchurch, Canterbury: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
