Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island. We believe older people should remain connected to their community and live stimulating and fulfilling lives.

**_About the Role_**

As a Kitchen hand, you will be responsible for assisting the Food Services Team Leader to prepare and serve tasty and nutritious means for lunch and dinner. We are looking for someone who is confident in the kitchen but we can provide additional training to ensure you get off to a great start.

Duties involve:

- Preparation of morning tea, and lunchtimes
- Clear tables when all residents have finished eating
- Ensure meals are served at the appropriate size and temperature
- Maintain daily food and fridge temperature checks
- Operate within food hygiene standards and protocols
- Be considerate of residents during mealtimes and ensure their needs are met appropriately

We have a fixed term contract available until the 2nd of November 2023 (Sunday 08.00 - 15.30 and Monday 15.30 - 19.30) within our Home. If you are able to work flexibly and pick up occasional additional hours across the full 7 day week, it's always a bonus, so willingness and ability to do this is truly appreciated within the Home.

**_About You_**

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organized with great interpersonal skills and sense of humor. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. You will also have:

- Experience working in a kitchen (preferred)
- Good communication skills and have a person centred approach
- High standards of personal hygiene and appearance
- If you hold a food safety/hygiene certificate, that would be great but if you don't have one we can train you in what you need to know
- Enjoy being able to contribute to the work of your team and how this impacts the experiences of our residents
